macOS when disk space is the deciding factor
The installed terminal is the fuller arrangement. Templates, profiles and window positions are saved on the machine, several charts stay open at once, and the setup opens the way it was left without being rebuilt. That is worth the space on a Mac used for trading most days.
The browser route is the answer when the disk is close to full, or when the Mac is mainly used for other work and should not accumulate anything else. Loading the platform in Safari leaves the machine unchanged, and closing the session is the entire clean-up.
Because both routes open one account, the decision can be made twice. A trader can work from a tab while space is short, install the terminal once the machine has been cleared, and find the same history and the same open positions there. Removing the terminal again later costs nothing beyond the layout that was saved on the disk.
